Barga Musicians received a warm welcome in Rhoon
The Klassiek in Rhoon Foundation (near Rotterdam - the Netherlands) surprised the entire public on Saturday 1 October with a concert whose performing musicians are used to performing in appealing concert halls and opera houses all over the world. The concert took place in the ancient church of Rhoon and was part of their annual concert series.
Baritone Bruno Caproni astonished the attentive audience from the start with his deep, clean and powerful voice. It was so voluminous, that his voice effortlessly filled the entire church. Pianist Julian Evens is a virtuoso on the grand piano. From beginning to end, he captivated the audience with his wonderful performances. Soprano Marika van der Meer stole the hearts of the audience with her charming performance. “The best concert ever in the series”, frequent visitors spontaneously said.
Klassiek in Rhoon was able to organize this concert because a small group of friends from the Rotterdam area make an annual trip abroad. A few years ago the club visited Barga. There they were invited to an intimate house concert in the villa of Julian Evans and Bruno Caproni. Together with Marika van der Meer, the stars made music for the group of friends. It was an unforgettable evening. It was agreed that the three would come to Rhoon for a concert. Due to COVID this was postponed, but last Saturday the musical fairy tale came true.
The concert in Rhoon opened spectacularly with the aria 'Lago al factotum' (Il Barbiere di Silviglia) by baritone Bruno Caproni and pianist Julian Evans. It became clear that it would be a special evening. Soprano Marika van der Meer masterfully sang 'Quel guardi cavaliers' (Dos Pasquelle) by Donizetti. That Julian Evans is a virtuoso became apparent in his performance of Franz Liszt's 'Les jeux d'eau de la Villa d'Este'. The explanation by the musicians themselves gave an extra dimension to the exceptionally atmospheric musical evening'. The concert was concluded with a masterly performance by Caproni of the well-known 'Mamma' by composer C.A. Bixio. In addition to flowers, the trio received a long and well deserved standing ovation from an enthusiastic audience.

La Fondazione Klassiek in Rhoon (vicino a Rotterdam - Paesi Bassi) ha sorpreso l'intero pubblico sabato 1 ottobre con un concerto i cui musicisti sono abituati ad esibirsi in sale da concerto e teatri d'opera di tutto il mondo. Il concerto si è svolto nell'antica chiesa di Rhoon e faceva parte della loro serie annuale di concerti.
Il baritono Bruno Caproni ha stupito fin dall'inizio il pubblico attento con la sua voce profonda, pulita e potente. Era così voluminoso che la sua voce riempì senza sforzo l'intera chiesa. Il pianista Julian Evens è un virtuoso del pianoforte. Dall'inizio alla fine, ha acca il pubblico con le sue meravigliose esibizioni. Il soprano Marika van der Meer ha rubato il cuore del pubblico con la sua interpretazione accaffiante. "Il miglior concerto di sempre della serie", hanno detto spontaneamente i visitatori abituali.

È stata una serata indimenticabile. Fu convenuto che i tre sarebbero venuti a Rhoon per un concerto. A causa del COVID questo è stato posticipato, ma sabato scorso la favola musicale si è avverata.
